A longtime entertainment journalist who witnessed Britney Spears‘ alleged erratic behavior at a Los Angeles restaurant this week is spilling tea on what he says happened that night!
As we previously reported, the pop star allegedly caused chaos at the Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks on Wednesday shortly after getting out of rehab following her DUI arrest. Eyewitnesses claimed she was yelling, barking, and even walking around with a knife in her hand, worrying diners that she might accidentally stab someone. It sounds concerning, but honestly? We don’t fully buy the reports!
Britney’s team even vehemently denied the accusations, saying she was only “enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard,” was “telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors,” and “cutting her hamburger.” That’s it! Still, journalist Jeff Sneider insists the singer was behaving wildly that night!

In an interview with Page Six on Thursday, Sneider said he and a friend went to the Blue Dog Tavern at around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The witness claimed a woman “behind sunglasses” arrived shortly after with two others, “sat down and proceeded to make a lot of woofing or barking noises and just throw a lot of outbursts.” When “she took off her sunglasses,” that is when Sneider realized it was Britney.
According to the reporter, Britney “kept standing up and sitting down and moving around the restaurant.” He claimed that at one point, she had been standing up, possibly “forgot to put down her silverware,” and was holding a knife in her hand:
“I wasn’t threatened or anything like that. But when she eventually left, I turned around and was like, ‘Holy s**t, that was crazy!’ to the entire section.”
Sneider went on to claim that one woman in their section, however, did feel threatened and said of Brit Brit:
“She had a knife and came toward me. I thought she was going to stab me.”
Although he doesn’t think the Crossroads actress planned to harm anyone, he said she was “definitely a nuisance to sit next to at dinner.” He claimed the two people with Britney “tried to coax her back into her seat” during the meal, but they were unsuccessful:
“They definitely tried their best to get a handle on her, but she was obviously a handful.”
Sneider noted he did not see Britney drink any alcoholic beverages at the establishment. Good to know. However, he claimed she “lit up a cigarette inside the restaurant” and that staff told one of her guests she needed to put it out. Despite all that, Sneider said he “never got the impression they were asked to leave.” And once they did bounce, he claimed there was a lot of food “left on the table and underneath the table” and that she “definitely made a mess.” He added:
“She was in rough shape last night, and it was hard for me and my friend to carry on a conversation.”
Oof…
Take it all with a grain of salt, though! As we said, we are very skeptical about these reports right now! But hopefully, it’s not true! All we want is for Britney to be in a good place following her recent troubles!
