Was Britney Spears really causing “chaos” at a Los Angeles restaurant this week? Her rep is slamming a new report!
According to TMZ sources, the pop star enjoyed a night out with a man and woman at the Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks on Wednesday night. But according to their eyewitness, things allegedly got out of hand fast as she caused a chaotic and “kind of sad” scene at the establishment.
Insiders claimed Britney was raising her voice, screaming, and even barking during the evening. A restaurant patron alleged the Crossroads actress even walked by their table holding a knife, sparking a fear she may accidentally stab someone! Whoa! That being said, the witness thinks Brit may have just forgotten to put it back down on the table. She also allegedly lit a cigarette inside near the door, and the staff had to ask her pal to tell her to put it out.

While at the table, the sources say, although Britney barely ate the burger and fries she ordered, she and the man she was with were feeding each other, and she told him, “I love you.” It is unclear if the singer meant it or was simply being playful. By the end of the meal, one guest said it looked “like a toddler had been there.” While there are no pictures of the supposed messy aftermath, TMZ obtained a photo of a folded-up menu from her table. Despite all the supposed chaos, sources say most of the diners did not know Britney had been there until she left. By then, everyone at the restaurant had been talking about her, with many saying this is something that would “only happen in L.A.” The insiders noted Britney’s security took her at the end of the night.

This comes after Britney had been arrested for a DUI and entered into rehab to address her alleged substance abuse and mental health issues. She recently returned home and reached a plea deal with prosecutors to reduce her DUI charge to a “wet reckless,” where she has been ordered to continue with treatment and see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month. She was reportedly “doing very well” and feeling “optimistic” about her future, so to hear this latest update is concerning!
However, her representative is calling the whole BS! They told TMZ on Thursday that the only reason Britney was barking at the restaurant was because she was telling her assistant and bodyguard a story about her dog:
“This is completely blown out of proportion. Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors.”
As for the knife? The rep said:
“At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half. This constant attack on everything that she does and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now.”
Yeah, we had a feeling Britney wasn’t as wild as the witness alleged!
