The woman suing JAY-Z and Diddy for sexual assault just scored a win.
As Perezcious readers know, back in October, a woman filed a lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records founder for allegedly raping her at an afterparty for the 2000 MTV Music Video Awards in New York City when she was 13 years old. She claimed two unnamed male celebrities sexually assaulted her while a female celebrity witnessed the attack. We did not know their identities at the time of the filing, but then the woman amended the suit and dropped a bombshell earlier this month: the second male celeb was JAY-Z.

The Holy Grail artist vehemently denied the accusations, even blasting the victim when she admitted to numerous inconsistencies in her story during an interview with NBC News. The rapper’s attorney, Alex Spiro, filed motions to dismiss the suit and reveal the woman’s identity. However, JAY-Z is not getting his wish at this time!
According to The New York Post on Thursday, Judge Analisa Torres will allow the plaintiff to keep her identity a secret — for now. In the filing, the judge blasted the Roc Nation founder’s attorney for being “combative” and trying to “fast-track” the case, saying:
“Carter’s lawyer’s relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client. The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it. Here, the weight of the factors tips in favor of allowing Plaintiff to remain anonymous, at least for this stage of the litigation.”
That said, things could change. Judge Torres noted that “the court intends to revisit this decision at a future date” as the case proceeds. At this time, JAY-Z has not addressed the judge’s decision.
