Nancy Motes, the half-sister of Julia Roberts and Eric Roberts, has been found dead of an apparent drug overdose.
In a statement released today, Julia’s rep revealed the untimely fate of her 37-year-old sister:

“It is with deep sadness that the family of Nancy Motes… confirms that she was found dead in Los Angeles yesterday of an apparent drug overdose. There is no official report from the Coroner’s office yet. The family is both shocked and devastated.”

Julia decided not to attend today’s Oscars luncheon to be with her family in the wake of this devastating news.
