Every time we think we have Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich figured out, there’s another mixed signal. This time it’s… flirting on social media?
In a move usually reserved for new couples still in that sexy honeymoon phase — or even potential lovers sliding into one another’s DMs — Julianne gave her stamp of approval on her husband’s sexy shirtless Instagram photos, his first ever intentional thirst trap.
But hold up — is she falling into the trap herself? Or just being supportive, essentially telling the guy, “happy hunting”?! We’ll let YOU decide, but first…

Brooks took to his IG on Wednesday to post some VERY sexy pics in which he stands knee deep in the lake holding his tools shirtless, and with his rock hard abs, hairy chest, and big ol’ quarantine beard he looks very much like a trashy romance novel cover. In a good way. He wrote:
“THIRST TRAP! I just heard that term a few weeks ago, and our @howmenthinkpodcast producer @torrbelle challenged me do my best “thirst trap” photo for this weeks episode! So here’s 3 ridiculous shots for you to choose from ?♂️.”
LOLz at how embarrassed he seems! It’s actually pretty cute! But he did go for it, even purposely making it “ridiculous”:
“Tell me which one is your favorite (photo 1, 2, or 3) and what the “thirst trap” caption should be. Just completely over the top and ridiculous, but who gives a damn! Best part was watching @hebercannon die laughing behind the lens. So here you go internet, feast your eyes on this senseless carousel!”

Thousands of like and little heart-eyes emojis later, one comment in particular stood out. Julianne wrote:

It’s definitely a supportive comment. But is it even flirting? We mean, it’s not exactly as lascivious as you’d want your spouse to be when you’re looking your hottest, right??
Brooks kept it lighthearted and jokey, writing back:
“@juleshough you know how i do (5 years late)….. ???♂️?♂️”
Hmm.
Well, whether she’s leering or just laughing, Julianne is getting about as close to that mountain man as we are — since the couple are infamously quarantined three states away from one another.
