Can’t hold down Jussie Smollett!
The Empire star — and subject of that horrific allegedly racially-motivated hate crime attack in Chicago on Tuesday — performed in Los Angeles on Saturday night in front of hundreds of fans, his first public appearance since the attack.

And even though he canceled the post-show meet-and-greet with fans earlier this week, it was still very clearly a HUGE moment for him to go out on stage triumphantly!
At one point, he told hundreds of fans (below):
“I had to be here tonight. I couldn’t let these motherf*ckers win … and I’m going to stand strong with y’all.”
Amen!!!!
He also told the crowd he’s OK, and still healing from the attack — though as TMZ reports, you can still se some physical marks on his face presumably from the attack itself.
