Ryan Reynolds had Justin Baldoni planning for the worst!
Over the weekend, Blake Lively filed a bombshell sexual harassment complaint against Justin, who directed and co-starred in her film It Ends With Us. After allegedly acting inappropriately on set and making her feel deeply uncomfortable, she claims Justin started up a smear campaign amid the film’s promo to “destroy” her reputation. But she gathered up all the receipts — including TONS of damning texts — and finally fired back.

According to texts reviewed by Page Six on Saturday, the Jane the Virgin alum first got nervous about protecting his reputation back in May when the Gossip Girl alum’s husband Ryan reportedly blocked him and his production company Wayfarer Studios on Instagram. In a text exchange with his team at the time, Justin expressed worry that the actress would do the same and draw more attention to the on-set drama, he allegedly texted his publicist:
“We should have a plan for IF she does the same when [the] movie comes out. Just want you guys to have a plan. Plans make me feel more at ease.”
By the way, this was months before the film’s August release date. So, that shows how long Justin was allegedly planning his own alleged retaliation against Blake! Though he didn’t hire a crisis management expert until the first week of August, his apparent desire to throw Blake under the bus wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment thing that happened days before the movie came out. He was trying to get ahead of any bad press way before it started. Jeez.
As of now, The Age of Adaline star does not follow the Five Feet Apart director, but he still follows her, suggesting he’s not blocked. Neither Ryan nor Justin follow each other, though.
FWIW, the fact Blake (and other cast members) didn’t follow Justin ahead of the premiere was one big reason fans started speculating about an on-set feud in the very first place. So, Justin wasn’t wrong to worry about the optics! But his alleged way of handling it?! So f**ked up!
