The grand finale of Justin Timberlake‘s tour… didn’t happen.
Fans in Columbus, Ohio were already in their seats for the last US show in the singer’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour when they got the disappointment of a lifetime. The 44-year-old called off his show just minutes before he was set to take the stage. On Instagram Thursday night, he wrote:
“You guys. I’m heartbroken. I have to cancel the show tonight. I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me. It kills me to disappoint you and my team who worked so hard to make this show happen.”
And to add salt to the wound, fans aren’t going to get a rescheduled show, either. Wrapping up his statement, he revealed he’d be issuing refunds for the tickets instead:
“I want to reassure you. You will be getting refunds for your tickets. I love you all.”

This is the second show JT has canceled since the beginning of his US dates. If you’ll recall, back in October he canceled his show in New Jersey due to medical issues — and even rescheduled a bunch of shows after that. Seems like he just can’t shake this sickness!

But at the last minute? People already took off work, got babysitters, it’s not easy to go to a concert for most regular folks! Talk about letting your fans down! On social media, they let him know they were NOT happy about his decision:
“Justin Timberlake posted at 7:20 he canceled the show. The doors were already open. He wasn’t sound checking at 7:20. He could’ve announced hours ago before we all wasted our time and money. He owes us more than a refund.”
“spent $160 on merch. i dont even want it anymore.”
“Beyond insensitive to fans.”
“Canceling bc of being sick is 100% understandable.. Canceling 10 minutes before the doors were to open is unacceptable”
“Okay so….doors shouldn’t have been opened if you knew at sound check you weren’t feeling good. Some of us traveled and rescheduled hotels not once but twice that is non refundable”
“So rude. What was he waiting for?!”
“This definitely ruined the tour…”
Ugh. These poor fans. Being sick is one thing, but surely he knew he wasn’t feeling well ahead of time? Why wait until just minutes before, when everyone is already seated and excited? So frustrating!
Then again, can anyone really be that surprised JT isn’t giving them a satisfying ending? Ha!
