Justin Timberlake EVISCERATED In Local Paper After Humiliating Concert!

If you thought being embarrassed by a wardrobe malfunction at your concert was bad, imagine the humiliation being the concert experience itself!

Justin Timberlake played the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on Monday night, and according to the local paper, he absolutely SHOULD BE mortified!

The review in The Minnesota Star Tribune dropped that very night, and has already started to go viral — as writer Jon Bream really ripped the singer a new one! He started off by calling JT “nervy” for performing 11 songs from his new record Everything I Thought I Was — “even though hardly anyone bought or even cared about the album.” DAMN, BREAM!

Not only did everyone react with much more enthusiasm to the classics, like SexyBack and Cry Me A River — yes, he’s still doing that one — they apparently didn’t even know the new ones! At one point, Bream says, Justin called for fans to sing along to the big single Selfish because he expected the crowd to know the words:

“They didn’t.”

Apparently the new stuff accounted for 40% of the concert — Bream did the math, we guess! In the pop journalist’s opinion? Justin has great songs, but he’s “not necessarily the best judge of his own work.” Ha! If this is what they call “Minnesota nice”, we’d hate to see “Minnesota mean”!

Bream also blasted Justin for opting not to do the big finale with the platform and wires, the one everyone has seen him doing at earlier shows. Though that’s when his shortcomings got exposed previously, so maybe he phased that part out…

The Tribune‘s take wasn’t entirely negative. Bream did say JT is “still such a dazzling song-and-dance man that he can sell even the most meh material.” Oof, talk about damning with faint praise though!

One more specific criticism for the St. Paul show? Not talking at all about the fact he was in Minnesota! Like he didn’t know or care where he was!

Bream noted that when he came through on his previous tour in 2018, JT made a big deal about how this was the home of Prince. Obviously they’re very proud of that fact in St. Paul. Nor did he reference the fact he’d played a Super Bowl halftime show here — something he also remembered last time. But he also didn’t even shout out the fact someone else is from right there in Minnesota! His wife! The paper pointed out Justin never mentioned Jessica Biel‘s name even once the whole show! LOLz!

We’re sure plenty of fans had a great time getting to see JT live, criticism or no. We hear he did 60% bangers, so that’s pretty solid!
