2 friggin’ songs!!!
That’s all Justin Timberlake was willing to sing with his fellow former *N SYNC-ers at the VMAs!
Sure, we hit decibels we didn’t think we could reach when we saw JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone ascend from under the stage to give us the reunion the universe had been waiting for!
But 2 friggin’ songs?!?
It sounds like JT’s old bandmates were just as disappointed as we were too!
Sources close to the guys say the original plan was for there to be MORE *N SYNC during Timberlake’s 15+ minute performance!
But that idea was scrapped in favor of giving Justin the spotlight on his big night!
An insider dished:
“They were pushing for more. While he was thrilled they could come for him, he didn’t want the reunion to be the whole thing. They originally were told that it was going to be more of their old hits, not just Bye Bye Bye [and Girlfriend], but then Justin reworked it.”
Sigh…
Well, OK. We’re not going to cry Justin a river. This WAS his moment, as the winner of the Video Vanguard Award.
And just as Beyonc├â┬⌐ was gracious enough to invite the girls of Destiny’s Child back for her Super Bowl Half Time Show, we think it’s pretty AH-Mazing that JT thought of his homeboys not only to share the stage with him but ALSO during his acceptance speech!
The guys in the group certainly aren’t holding any grudges about their time on stage either. Our source also explained:
“They loved being all back together! It felt like the old days!”
Short as it may have been, it was still a dream come true!
Cough…reunion tour! ….cough, cough!!!
