Whoa, is Kaia Gerber trying to tell us something? Because this is about the last thing we expected if so.
The model posted an Instagram Story on Wednesday which seemed to tease some pretty big news… we think.
OK, rewind. Just over two weeks ago we heard Kaia and Pete Davidson had broken up after only about three months of dating. We also inferred from his latest Weekend Update update the SNL star was probably headed to rehab for a bit.

This all fit with the fact Kaia’s parents, entrepreneur Rande Gerber and supermodel Cindy Crawford, were photographed having a very tense conversation outside their daughter’s NYC apartment, presumably after a father-boyfriend man-to-man with Pete. Rande was reportedly overheard describing the comedian as “freaking out” and having “scratched eyes,” whatever that means.
At the time we figured the parents were just being overprotective (or the right amount of protective?), rushing to the 18-year-old’s side during a bad breakup.
But what if there was a piece of information missing from the story? Something we couldn’t possibly have known? Something which caused all the tension and the “freaking out”?
OK, back to Wednesday’s post on IG Story. Because here’s what Kaia posted:

Is Kaia pregnant with Pete Davidson’s baby?!
OK, first off — far be it from us to look at a model’s bared tummy and judge changes in the general flatness… but she is literally inviting people to speculate. We mean, she captioned the pic:
“Read into this.”
That being said, girl may indeed be trying to tell us something. Compared to her usual size, that could be an early baby bump.
Though again, we have to caution, we would not be speculating if not for the other big piece of evidence here…
We are of course talking about the freakin’ BABY BOOK she’s holding!
In case you couldn’t tell, that’s The One Minute Mother by Spencer Johnson, M.D. — a guide to raising children which advertises as teaching new moms “how to reach your own potential while helping your children to reach theirs.” From the Amazon Books description:

Yes, make no mistake. This is a parenting book.
There is a possibility that caption was sarcastically daring tabloids to “read into this” — mocking media coverage of her most recent relationship. But if so she frankly may have overdone it a bit. And we are letting ourselves get fooled.
Because if Kaia is pregnant, all the pieces suddenly seem to fit even better. The distraught parents, the “freaking out” boyfriend feeling the need to get cleaned up… Could this really be happening??
