Delicious and nutritious?

Kailyn Lowry‘s new arrival turns a week old on Thursday, and the busy momma is getting into the swing of postpartum life with a little boost added to her breakfast.

As we previously shared, her baby boy arrived at 8 lbs., 15 oz. and 22.5 inches long, per E! News. The 28-year-old gushed to the outlet about him, sharing:

“No name yet but we are all healthy and so in love. I can check giving birth during a pandemic off my bucket list now.”

Though she hasn’t shared any photos or a name just yet, the Teen Mom 2 star has opened up about an unusual addition to her diet: placenta! Plenty of celeb mommas have chosen to consume their placenta after childbirth, including Nikki Reed, Hilary Duff, Chrissy Teigen, Kim Kardashian West, January Jones, Kourtney Kardashian, Katherine Heigl, and Khloé Kardashian. It can be consumed in a drink like a smoothie, as an encapsulated pill, or simply cooked.

On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania native shared a snap to her Instagram Story posing with a blended drink, asking her followers to “guess” what she was drinking. Later on, she shared a pic of the half-empty cup, writing:

“If you guessed my placenta, you’re right!”

She added:

“Blended with fresh fruit & almond milk. Couldn’t taste the placenta at all!”

As you’re likely aware, this is Kailyn and ex Chris Lopez‘s second child together, previously welcoming son Lux in 2017 prior to announcing her fourth pregnancy in February. The Pothead Hair Care founder also shares 10-year-old Isaac with Jo Rivera and 6-year-old Lincoln with Javi Marroquin.

But enjoying her placenta wasn’t the only decision about her baby journey she explained recently! Ahead of her birth, the MTV star defended her choice to not allow her ex in the room when their son was born:

“My mental health and CONSISTENCY in my sons’ lives are more important than he said/she said. As their mother, I know in my heart I’m doing what I believe to be best. I’m sorry if everyone disagrees. … Why would I make the call to someone who has not been helpful, consistent, empathetic or compassionate for the entire 9 months? Says he doesn’t care but thinks he should be included in the birth? Make it make sense.”

What do U think, mommas? Would U add a placenta to your smoothie?! Share with us (below) in the comments!!
