Either way, the Ye vs. The People rapper sounded off on cell phone addiction on Monday, encouraging his followers to use their phones like they would a hammer and “only pick it up if they needed it.”

From there, Ye pushed off into a lesson on consumerism. Sharing a link to a documentary about Edward Bernays, the so-called father of public relations and propaganda, Kim Kardashian West‘s husband explained how we no longer live in a time where Americans simply buy what they needed.
He’s right. It’s sad we can’t live with the bare necessities anymore. Food, water, several $800 pairs of Yeezys… you know, the essentials.
