Kanye West Compares Early Fashion Show Attendance To Civil Rights Movement Sit-Ins!

Kanye West compares his early fashion world experience to the Civil Rights Movement!
It may be hard to believe, but Kanye West was not always the fashion world darling who hobnobbed with Anna Wintour and Riccardo Tisci that he is now.
There was a time when Yeezy was not even ALLOWED to go to a fashion show.
Can you believe the injustice???
During a surprise performance at the Design Miami event at Art Basel in Switzerland, the 35-year-old took a moment before playing his new music to recall a not so glamorous time in his life.
He said:

“So when I used to go to fashion shows with my boys and we├óΓé¼Γäód be eight deep, it was almost like a civil rights, like a sit-in. They wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót even let us in. They had no idea what rap would mean to this world, what rap would mean to the art world. Before the Kendrick Lamars and the A$AP Rockys, it was Kanye West in a hotel room at the Le Maurice getting a ├óΓé¼╦£No, no, no, no├óΓé¼Γäó to every single fashion show.”

Did he really just compare that experience to the non-violent sit-in protests staged during the Civil Rights Movement? That seems like kind of a stretch.
On the other hand, we already know that Kanye says some of the most CRAY things we’ve ever heard.
Life wouldn’t be the same without his comical quips!
