Kanye West is not going down without a fight when it comes to maintaining custody of his kids.
As we reported, the rapper threatened to go to “war” with ex-wife Kim Kardashian in since-deleted text messages over the trademark she owns for their daughter North West‘s name. It all started because Kim understandably tried to stop him from releasing a song featuring the 11-year-old and Diddy — a man accused of raping, abusing, and sex trafficking men and women. Some of whom were minors at the time of the assaults. Yeah, we get why Kim doesn’t want her child involved in a project with a guy like that!
Although the parents agreed not to have North on the song, Ye went and released it anyway over the weekend! Ugh! Now, Kim has had enough of her baby daddy’s behavior! TMZ reported on Monday that the former couple has joint control over decision-making for their children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. However, she is now thinking about getting full legal custody in light of Kanye’s actions.

But when the record producer said he would start a “war” with Kim, he meant it! If she goes for full control of the kiddos, a source told The US Sun on Monday he plans to fight The Kardashians star over the matter:
“Kanye will fight Kim all the way, he and North are very close and she loves him. He would never want to lose custody of the kids. The fear is Kim may go for full custody, even though she’s been very keen to keep things cordial in recent years, a lot has changed recently and she has to protect them.”
Kim better start listening to Bethenny Frankel‘s legal advice! The insider added:
“If he does go nuclear with Kim, I don’t think he’ll ever come back from that.”
And that worries those around Ye. They’ve already been in damage control mode ever since he had his (ex?) wife Bianca Censori nude at the Grammys — and then went on another antisemitic rant online. If a legal battle with Kim begins soon, could things worsen? Sounds like that is what his inner circle fears. A friend told the outlet:
“Bianca’s doing the best she can. Everybody’s doing the best they can to help him. But people kind of egg him on or tell him it’s okay. If you say no to him, he finds somebody else. In terms of his mental health, I’ve always thought the car accident years ago has a lot to answer for.”
Hmm. Kanye got into a car crash in October 2022 — though it is not believed he had a brain injury. He suffered from nasal fractures and a broken jaw, and that is it. There also have been reports of the Stronger artist suffering from a laughing gas addiction, something he has not confirmed nor denied himself. However, the pal claimed to The Sun that this problem is very real and has “exacerbated his issues” right now, adding:
“We don’t know what condition he has but I’m positive it’s gotten worse in recent years. He’s basically feral. It’s like caring for a wounded animal but they keep running away. He doesn’t have the boundaries of regular people. There’s nothing to stop him. And he still has millions in the bank. He’s an absolutist when it comes to his freedom to experiment creatively or talk about certain subjects that are forbidden. He’s unaware of how many people he’s affecting, it’s like he doesn’t understand.”
Now, because of this behavior, he may lose custody rights over his children. But at this point, he has no one to blame but himself since he could not follow a simple and reasonable request from the mother of his own kids.
