A source close to the rapper revealed that Yeezus was offered the final spot on American Idol‘s judging panel for the upcoming 13th season, but decided it would hurt his reputation to accept the coveted seat:
“He didn’t want to go that mainstream. He didn’t want to lose any street cred. So he turned it down.”
The insider explained that Idol producers also met with other contenders for the spot, including, Will.i.am, Diddy, and Rodney Jerkins!
In the end, they reportedly traded a Black Skinhead singer for a doctor!

The producer, who’s worked with Katy Perry and Ke$ha is currently in talks to become the third judge on the FOX reality competition show!
He would join Keith Urban and (rumored returner) Jennifer Lopez, who are both judging alum!
