Kate Middleton Clashes With Outlet Over 'Inaccuracies' Surrounding 'Selfish' Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Report

kensington palace issues statement about tatler article

The royal family isn’t taking any accusations against them without a fight!!

After a new article was released in Tatler praising Kate Middleton‘s hard work in picking up the extra slack Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left behind, Kensington Palace is attempting to shut down the rumor mill once again.

A spokesperson responded to the report of the strained in-laws’ relationships with a statement on Wednesday:

“This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication.”

Following the announcement from Kate and Prince William‘s team, a rep for the outlet fired back, sharing with ET:

Tatler‘s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the ‘Catherine the Great’ cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.”

ICYMI, their article claimed the Duchess of Cambridge’s busier than usual schedule, stating:

“Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”

Obviously, the world has slowed down for the time being due to the coronavirus which means Kate’s workload has lightened up, though it has been replaced with added motherly duties at home. However, prior to COVID-19 bringing things to a halt, her time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis was allegedly being cut short due to Meg and Harry’s decision to skip town:

“Meghan and Harry have been so selfish. William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus. There goes their morning school runs as the responsibilities on them now are enormous.”

The article continued:

“In the wake of Harry and Meghan standing down as senior royals and seeking exile in North America, Kate took on 11 royal engagements in a month – three in the space of 24 hours. It was a gruelling attempt to buffer the barrage of bad news destabilising the House of Windsor on a near-daily basis: the divorces (the Queen’s nephew Lord Snowdon and her grandson Peter Phillips); Prince Andrew’s mortifying fall from grace; the Sussexes’ surly press statements; and those naff Chinese milk adverts. Amid it all, Kate has emerged serene and smiling.”

It’s good to hear that there’s somewhat of a united front being presented by the Cambridges in defense of Meg and Harry, though we still wonder if there’s any truth to what was written…
