Most of the focus post-Megxit is on what the future holds for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
After their shocking decision to give up their titles and walk away from their Royal duties, we have watched as the House of Sussex moved to Canada and then to Los Angeles. We’ve seen them take on new opportunities and heard a lot about their struggles.
But what about the difficulties they left behind??

While we never hear Kate Middleton complain about all this, a lot of the stress of Megxit has fallen squarely on her shoulders. See, Harry and Meghan left quite suddenly. Even if they did plan it for months (or even through their entire marriage as has been suggested recently), they didn’t give any of their family members the heads up. That meant a lot of previously scheduled Royal engagements they wouldn’t be attending — leaving a lot of work for others.
Kate personally took on 11 new engagements in just the first month — three of which were on the same freakin’ day!
She’s kept a stiff upper lip throughout it all — figuratively anyway, she’s actually smiling and laughing more than ever in public.
However, sources say behind closed doors the Duchess of Cambridge is quite upset by all the extra stress courtesy of her in-laws. An insider told Tatler even as she’s rising to the occasion, she’s also feeling rather underwater:
“Kate is furious about the larger workload. Of course she’s smiling and dressing appropriately but she doesn’t want this. She feels exhausted and trapped. She’s working as hard as a top CEO, who has to be wheeled out all the time, without the benefits of boundaries and plenty of holidays.”
The extra work has apparently cut into the only time Kate and Prince William could spare — the quality time with their three kids!
Another friend of the Cambridges complained to the outlet, saying:
“Meghan and Harry have been so selfish. William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus. There goes their morning school runs as the responsibilities on them now are enormous.”
We hadn’t even thought about how all this affected Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. That really is too bad, especially considering Harry’s whole motivation was the protection of his family.
Does this change how YOU feel about the decision to Megxit??
