We just LOVE Katy Perry‘s Prism! Obvi!
But the final song stuck out to us as a real heartbreaker! The profoundly personal By The Grace Of God shows the ugly self-pitying side of a breakup.
And since the album was written in the wake of Katy’s brutal divorce from Russell Brand, we can only assume she’s telling us exactly what she went through!
And we assumed right! Katy reveals more about the epic song, saying:
“We all go through breakups and we all get very depressed and desperate. The lyrics are very exact and autobiographical. That├óΓé¼Γäós how I write. But the one thing about those lyrics is you can hear me finding my strength throughout the song. It starts off really low and then I kind of stand up for myself and say, ‘No!'”
