Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom 'Spending Time Apart'! Is The Split 'Permanent'??

Things are apparently super touch-and-go for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom!

We only just heard the relationship was getting rocky — but now we’re hearing it’s gotten so bad even their inner circle doesn’t know WTF is going on. Ugh!

As we’ve been following, reports have come out in the last 24-ish hours claiming the pop music superstar and the A-list actor are struggling to maintain their romance. Some reports are going so far as to claim the duo is DONE! And now, new light shed from those closest to the Teenage Dream crooner and her (ex?) beau is making this whole sitch even murkier.

On Wednesday, Us Weekly spoke to an insider who confirmed what we’d been hearing — the couple is having serious problems. That source even said the dreaded words:

“It’s true they’re spending time apart.”

Spending time apart?! We all know that’s code for broken up! No one decides to spend some time apart and then things magically get better, and they end up together!

And it isn’t happening for Orlando and Katy either. Not only did the source make it more explicit they meant the couple have “split” — they spilled the duo’s close pals don’t see a reconciliation on the horizon:

“Their friends don’t know if they are permanently split.”

OMG!!!

It’s a bad sign when the breakup rumors start flying. It’s a really bad sign when a couple’s closest compadres think they’re dunzo. Oof.

Now, to be fair, that insider told the mag this “isn’t the first time” the couple have parted ways. And they got back together before when they did split up:

“The first time they broke up it was about two years after they got together. It’s happened a few times, but they’ve always worked it out before.”

Still, that was early on — nearly a decade ago now, before their engagement, and before the arrival of their daughter Daisy Dove. This isn’t an on-again, off-again, that was growing pains! This feels more like an ending than a rocky start.

Remember, Orlando popped by The Tonight Show on Tuesday amid the bubbling-up of this breakup brouhaha. And during a chat with Jimmy Fallon, which you can re-visit (below) in case you missed our coverage of it earlier, the Pirates of the Caribbean star quipped his dog Biggie Smalls was serving as his “emotional support animal” because he was “very emotional right now.”

Um… emotional why now??
