Did the movie roles dry up or is she looking for some artistic integrity?!
Keira Knightley will make her West End stage debut in a 3-month run of Moli├â┬¿re’s The Misanthrope at the Comedy theater.
The farce, set to open December 17th, will star Keira as an ambitious American film star who is the love of the title character, the “misanthrope” Alcestea, played by Damian Lewis.
Alceste is bitter and furious with the hypocrisy and vanity of the contemporary world – in this version, the usual surroundings of 17th-century Paris have been moved to present-day London. In his attempt to reject society, he falls in love with Jennifer, the toast of the social scene.
Although she may be a little slight for the stage, we thing she can pull it off!
Especially since she’s playing herself!
