WOAH! Talk about an understanding parent!
Weddings can be a headache for everyone involved, which is part of the reason why Kelly Clarkson eloped with now-hubby Brandon Blackstock.
Because it was a quickie wedding, Clarkson’s mom, Jeanna Taylor, wasn’t able to attend the ceremony, and she’s okay with that! Jeanna said:
├óΓé¼┼ô[Kelly] said they were just so overwhelmed with the tour and they just decided to elope. But she didn├óΓé¼Γäót want to hurt our feelings. She has had a lot on her plate and I├óΓé¼Γäóve seen her schedule for the next month and Christmas. But we├óΓé¼Γäóre happy for her and she├óΓé¼Γäós so happy. She was so afraid we might be upset. But we were fine with it…I had known that she was under a lot of stress. And we just wanted her to be happy and not stressed out…I think the biggest thing for us to do was to allow her to do what she wanted to do.├óΓé¼┬¥
Aww!!! We’re thrilled that Jeanna reacted that way! It’s nice when families can be involved, but sometimes people forget the wedding is about the bride and groom, and this is how the couple wanted it!
Now that the wedding is out of the way, Jeanna says these two are ready to start their lives together:
├óΓé¼┼ô[Brandon] took her out on a date a couple weeks ago. He came to the door and took her out and made it romantic and special. That├óΓé¼Γäós the kind of guy he is. They fit very well together. He├óΓé¼Γäós low-key and so is she. They├óΓé¼Γäóll do very well together├óΓé¼┬ª I think she├óΓé¼Γäóll make a great mom. I know she├óΓé¼Γäós been trying really hard with Brandon├óΓé¼Γäós kids and they all really get along. I├óΓé¼Γäóve watched them interact and she├óΓé¼Γäóll help them with their homework and listen to them read. They├óΓé¼Γäóll make a good expanded family…That is the next thing on the list.”
It’s pretty clear where Kelly gets her awesome level-headedness from!
Maybe once everything settles down, they can have a big ole partay for their peeps who missed out!
