RHOC Star Kelly Dodd Says Coronavirus Is 'God's Way Of Thinning The Herd'

Uhh, earth to Kelly?!

Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd offered her unwanted take on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, calling it “God’s way of thinning the herd.”

It all started on Monday when the Bravo personality documented her experience getting tested for COVID-19 on her Instagram Story. She shared videos of her screaming as the doctor put a long nasal swab inside each nostril and repeatedly asked her not to move.

She came under fire after flying from New York back to California prior to her test, and wrote in response to one commenter’s critiques:

“If it’s dangerous why are the airlines still flying ? You think I want to fly ? I had to get back how is that elitist ?? People are so judge mental [sic] it’s sick!!”

In a second response, she argued “there was no one at the airport” or “on my plane,” so she did not have to worry about being “infested with germs there.” This, despite the east coast state having the most confirmed cases in the country…

But it was her third comment that really has people pissed off:

“Do you know how many people died from the H1N1, the swine flu or SARS? It’s 25% get your facts straight you only hearing numbers not the reality! It’s God’s way of thinning the herd!”

Uhh?! Are you Thanos?? What do you mean God’s way of thinning the herd??

However, she did include some suggestions that actually made sense:

“If you are vulnerable or compromised stay inside; if you don’t, protect others by wearing masks and gloves keep your distance! And don’t go out if you are ill!”

Regardless, people who have otherwise been perfectly healthy have unfortunately contracted COVID-19 and died. It’s not just the elderly or immunocompromised, everyone is at risk.

After obviously receiving quite a bit of backlash for what she said, the 44-year-old hopped on her Instagram Story on Tuesday to issue an apology:

“I want to give a public apology. When I wrote this is ‘God’s way of thinning the herd,’ that’s not what I meant. What I meant was, do these pandemics happen because it’s God’s way? I’m not God, I’m not insensitive. I feel bad for all the families who have lost loved ones. And I do think we should all stay home and protect everybody. That’s not what I meant, and I want to apologize to anybody who got offended. I’m sorry.”

Sigh. Even her former RHOC classmate Vicki Gunvalson had a stupid comment about the global pandemic, as seen (below):

Does this scream “entitlement” or what?? Let us know what U think about all this, Perezcious readers!
