The passing of Hugh Hefner‘s longtime secretary, Mary O’Connor, has left the Playboy family devastated.
One Playmate who was particularly close to her was Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, who continues to grieve her death.
Kendra wrote on her website:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóm devastated to hear about the passing of Mary O├óΓé¼ΓäóConnor. Some of you probably recognize her as Hef├óΓé¼Γäós secretary from “The Girls Next Door.” But Mary was a lot more than that to those who knew her. Mary worked at the Playboy Mansion for more than 40 years and was like the mansion mom.
She was almost like a therapist because we could talk to her about anything. When I lived at the mansion I was very close with her. Over the years, she helped me through a lot and was always there for me. She was a shoulder to cry on when I needed it and always there to give me advice when I was going through a tough time.
I have so many great memories of Mary. She always invited me to her home for Monday night card games with her and her girlfriends but I would end up watching football with her husband Captain Bob instead. Mary also brought me along to her favorite getaway place, Branson, Missouri, which I will never forget. I felt so special that she invited me to her getaway with her and it was so nice to see where she went away to.
One of my favorite memories of her that I’ll never forget is when she showed up at my bridal shower wearing a shower cap, while all of my friends were in risqu├â┬⌐ outfits. She also held my baby shower for Lil’ Hank which is something I will always be thankful for.
She was a wonderful person and I wouldn’t be the person I am without her. “
She sounds like she was SUCH a special woman.
Mary may be gone, but she obviously will never be forgotten.
