Kim Kardashian West‘s rise to stardom has had its fair share of ups and downs.
On Monday on YouTube, E! True Hollywood Story released its latest episode about the KUWTK star, and it spills some serious tea about her past.

From her father, Robert Kardashian, representing O.J. Simpson in his 1994 murder trial, to her friendship with socialite Paris Hilton, Kanye West‘s wife has plenty of stories to tell about her life.

The O.J. Simpson Trial
When Kim’s dad worked on O.J.’s legal team, it created a great deal of conflict for the Kardashian family — as the football player was accused of murdering Kris Jenner‘s friend, Nicole Brown Simpson. In fact, she says it was “the first time my family really got divided.”
She remembers:
“One day my dad took me and [sister] Kourtney [Kardashian] into the trial… And then my mom happened to be sitting with Nicole’s family, and we looked over and my mom was looking at us, like, ‘What are you girls doing here? Why are you sitting on that side?'”
Kim also recalls an incident where she and her family walked out of a restaurant and discovered somebody spray painted “n***** lover” on her father’s car.
Overall, the legal drama taught her how the media can twist and manipulate reality.
For example, Kim was once mistaken as her father’s mistress by a news outlet!
“I was like, this can’t be real — they lie like this?… I learned the lesson of, not everything is what you think it is.”
Paris Hilton Taught Kim The Ropes!
Back in the day, friend Paris taught Kim the ABCs on how to deal with the paparazzi.
Kardashian said:
“I remember we were sitting in her SLR Mercedes… and at that point, the paparazzi would lay on the ground to try and get a picture of you, up your dress, and she said, ‘OK. We need to make sure you don’t give them that’… She was such a great mentor for me. I really am grateful for my experiences with her… She’s a huge, huge reason for my success.”
Kim & BFF Jonathan Cheban Once Faked A Dinner With Britney Spears!
During the episode, Kim recalls a time when she and BFF Jonathan Cheban — now known as “Foodgod” — wanted to “do something crazy” to get press. So, the two faked a dinner with Britney Spears!
He said:
“We were in New York, and Britney Spears was in this hotel, locked up in her room… We notice there’s paparazzi outside.”
The pair then get into a Rolls Royce, pull up to the hotel, and were photographed going inside!
“We literally go hide in the lobby in a phone booth, wait ten minutes, then come out. And the next day the story was ‘Kim went to see Britney.'”
Kim added:
“They said in the press that we were there to have dinner with Britney Spears — this whole thing didn’t even happen.”
Kathie Lee Gifford Pushed The KarJenners To Do Reality TV!
When she was only 12 years old, Kim dreamed of being on The Real World! According to childhood friend, Allison Statter:
“The Real World launched in 1992 when Kim and I were 12-years-old and Kim was mesmerized. She was like ‘I have got to get on The Real World.'”
Kim divulged:
“I said to her, ‘Oh my god.’ This is what I want to do when I’m older. I want to be on a reality show.”
However, things didn’t get moving until Kathie Lee Gifford — one of Kris’ good friends — pushed the entire family to appear on the small screen!
The momager noted:
“[She] would tell me constantly, ‘You guys need a show, nobody would believe what goes on in your life.’ This went on for a couple of years, until I met the casting director for Dancing With the Stars. She came over for dinner one night and was just watching all of this chaos. She goes, ‘This is just crazy, I’ve got to introduce you to Ryan Seacrest.'”
And THAT is how KUWTK was born!
A Psychic Predicted The Family’s Fame!
After the O.J. trial, dad Robert went to a psychic, who told him his family was going to be VERY famous someday.
Kim said:
“The psychic told him, ‘Ya know, your last name Kardashian is going to be known worldwide. And it’s not now, its not because of your O.J. fame’… And my dad was like, ‘Yeah ok, this is exactly why I don’t like psychics.'”
She added:
“Knowing what I know about fame now, would I give it up? The answer is honestly no. I think I was made for it.”
