Just when you thought the saga of Kim Kardashian and Ray J’s infamous NSFW tape couldn’t get any messier (or any longer, TBH), a bombshell revelation has entered the chat — and trust us, it’s giving hush money, courtroom chaos, and a whole lot of side-eye!

According to newly uncovered legal docs first published by TMZ on Friday, Kim and Ray J quietly inked a top-secret settlement back in 2023 that was designed to keep both of them zipped up tight about that tape forever. Yes, forever. The agreement, officially titled “Confidential Settlement Agreement and Mutual General Release,” wasn’t just signed by Kim and Ray J, but also Kris Jenner and Ray J’s mom, Sonja Norwood. Because, of course, the moms were involved. This is a full family affair!!
The goal? Shut it all down. Past, present, future, everything! No more talk, no more accusations, no more messy headlines. The legal language in the settlement makes that crystal clear:
“The parties have agreed to enter this agreement addressing all past, current, or future claims, disputes, causes of action, defenses, and alleged losses, including without limitation, all claims and defenses arising out of or concerning the subject matter of the sex tape.”
But wait, it gets juicier. Ray J was apparently paid a whopping $6 million to sign on the dotted line and keep quiet. Six. Million. Dollars. That’s not exactly pocket change, Perezcious readers!
And the deal didn’t just protect the famous exes — it also conveniently shielded Hulu and Disney from any potential fallout tied to the tape, which is especially interesting considering where The Kardashians airs.
And just in case either of the parties thought they could get shady after signing, well, think again. The agreement included a strict non-disparagement clause that basically told everyone to play nice:
“…[parties agree] not to disparage or impugn the character, reputation, integrity, honesty, business or business practices [of each other].”
Sounds airtight, right? Yeah, well, uh, not so fast! Despite this supposed peace treaty, the drama has obviously been exploding of late. Ray J has recently fired off a countersuit, claiming Kim and Kris broke their agreement by discussing the infamous decades-old sex tape on their Hulu reality show. That’s a major no-no!
