Keeping Up With Kapitol Hill???
On Tuesday, Kourtney Kardashian descended upon Washington D.C., in order to address Congress about cosmetic safety reform. No, we’re being completely serious.

The 38-year-old mother of three popped by Capitol Hill as part of a briefing with Environmental Working Group President Ken Cook. It’s said that the oldest KarJenner partnered with the non-profit organization in the hopes of promoting the latter’s #BeautyMadeBetter campaign. Kourt, along with Mr. Cook, hope to convince Congress to reform laws that regulate ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products! (Color us impressed!)
But, how on EARTH did Kourtney get involved with this campaign??? Well, we’ll tell ya…
During the briefing, Kardashian explained:

“When I had my first son, I started really learning so much about the foods that I was feeding him and it just kind of all snowballed. As a mom, you really take so much interest in the products├óΓé¼┬ª and it’s so crazy. I was thinking about it this morning. I would get so many baby gifts and a lot of it were products, skincare products for my kids.
And I would use the things that people sent me just assuming these are baby products and that they should be safe. I remember learning from my mom friends that these were not healthy at all.”

Hmmmm, inneresting point. Kardashian, who wore a black blazer with a white crop top for her testimonial, continued:

“Even going into a store to buy just about anything ├óΓé¼┬ª you shouldn’t have to walk around aimlessly asking ├óΓé¼╦£Is this okay?’ ├óΓé¼╦£Is this not okay?’ Everybody should have the right to healthy products. I do feel like it’s time for Congress to do its job.”

Oh snap! We see you, Kourtney.

As for the ingredients in sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian West‘s makeup lines, Kourtney side stepped from commenting too specifically on that. Ironically, Kourtney’s makeup collaboration with Kylie dropped the SAME DAY as her briefing.
When asked about her sisters’ efforts to use responsible ingredients, she noted:

“I don’t know. Those are their companies, but I think it would be nice if there were laws to regulate cosmetics so that the people running these businesses and these companies can have some standard of what to use… My sisters’ products have been checked by EWG and they scored well.”

Awwwww. Kris Jenner must be so proud of that dance around!!
We can’t say we’re surprised that Kourtney has gotten involved with this cause, as she’s been a longtime advocate for natural and organic products.
