Kristin Cavallari Buys Separate Home After Judge Orders Funds Released Despite Jay Cutler's Objections

Kristin Cavallari is finally able to move forward and buy her own home away from estranged husband Jay Cutler.

This, after a judge was able to demand the release of frozen assets this week, ordering the former NFL quarterback to relinquish his hold on the money so that the reality TV star could acquire her own place away from him. Now, it appears Kristin is dead-set on buying “the house she wants to” as she re-makes her own life in the Nashville, Tennessee area.

An insider spoke to Us Weekly about the entire situation on Saturday, telling the outlet that a court order is what things ultimately came down to here (below):

“The judge was able to order the release of the frozen assets so Kristin is going to be able to buy the house she wants to. Things have not improved between Kristin and Jay.”

Super yikes to that last part… we may be in for a long, contentious divorce process at this rate, y’all…

Nevertheless, the Very Cavallari star is now ready to strike out on her own; according to the outlet, the 33-year-old designer and TV mainstay signed a contract this week to purchase a $5.5 million home in Franklin, Tennessee — just a few miles south of the couple’s former place together up in Nashville. She and the former Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears quarterback had been living separately for pretty much the entire month of March, ever since returning from that ill-fated Bahamas trip, but at least now Kristin officially is in the process to procure a true place of her own.

That’ll help her custody argument, too, as E! News further reports she and the 37-year-old former pro athlete have reached a temporary custody agreement, as well. For now, Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4, will remain in their Nashville home as mom and dad switch off staying with them every week. Once Kristin closes on her new home — she hopes to be there within a month — the kids will shuttle back and forth on a weekly basis between the two cribs. We’ll see how long this arrangement lasts, of course, but at least for now it’s set up and ready to play out.

Obviously, quite a bit has been going on since these two filed for divorce back on April 24, first announcing it in joint Instagram posts two days later. Though things seemed fairly amicable at the time, contentious accusations and insider reports have muddied the waters considerably as this high-profile former couple now navigates splitting up and co-parenting apart.

At least now they’ll live separately where, conceivably, it seems like the space could do them some good as far as cooling off and focusing on the kids’ well being?! Here’s hoping…
