Some people, like Beyoncé, have them naturally, and others, like Kylie Jenner, need a boost from temporary fillers.

But for people who weren’t born with full lips and don’t want to get them artificially enhanced, there’s an easier way — makeup!
Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle — who regularly beautifies Jessica Chastain, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera — has been kind enough to come in and give us some AH-Mazing tips and tricks to fake a fuller pout!
He recently worked with Jessica Chastain at the Met Gala and with Mariah Carey for her opening night performance at Caesars Palace on Wednesday!
Of course lipstick and lip liner can’t make thin lips double in size or anything, but they can maintain the illusion of a plump kisser for at least a night!

1. Use a lip pencil that’s darker than your natural lip color and overdraw your lips. Trace the natural shape of your lip but do it outside the natural line.
2: When you’re overdrawing your lip, don’t go crazy — build it up slowly, experiment by going only slightly outside your natural lip line and then building and building. When you build the upper part of your lip near the cupid’s bow and at the fullest part of the bottom lip, it works best.
3. If you mess up your edges, you can go back with a concealer and a brush to clean up and refine the edge of your lip line.
4. After the clean-up, take your lip pencil and fill in the outer corners of your upper and lower lip. This creates a three-dimensional contoured look, and makes the center of the mouth come forward.
5. When it comes to lip color you want to keep it matte and velvety-looking, and keep it right at the center of the lip, which creates that 3D look to make your lips look plumper.
TIP: If you don’t have a matte lipstick, you can always use the same lip pencil you used to outline your lip. Fill in the entire lip then take a concealer pencil or a little dot of concealer and paint it right at the center of your lip, and blend it in.
6. Another way to really bring out your lips is by highlighting the cupid’s bow with eye shadow that’s close to your skin color. By highlighting your upper lip with a bit of shine, it reflects light and punches out the upper lip area.
TIP: Dust your lips with translucent powder to make them more matte and to increase staying power.
7. Adding shine via lip gloss as a final step will further pump up your lips!
TIP: Darker lip colors like reds and burgundies make lips recede and look smaller, while lighter colors like corals, peaches, and pinks make them look bigger and more prominent.
