K-Stew To Play Joan Jett In Rock Biopic

Kristen Stewart – who pouted her way through Twilight – has been tapped to play lesbian icon Joan Jett in the rock biopic The Runaways.

Uh, really?

We guess so, because Jett herself is executive producing the flick about the first commercially successful all-girls band, of which she was a member. The film will recount the band’s teenage rise to stardom and their ultimate dissolution.

Music video director Floria Sigismondi penned the screenplay and is helming the project, set to commence production in 2009. Filming will work around Stewart’s Twilight schedule, which has 2 sequels lined up.

We’re worried that stiff Stewart will make a Womanizer performance out of the legendary Joan Jett.

But we’ll see!
