Kyle Richards' Daughter Sophia Blasts Critics Telling Her STOP Using Weight Loss Drugs After Hair Loss: 'They're Not Doctors'

Kyle Richards' Daughter Sophia Responds To Criticism For Using Weight Loss Drugs That Made Her Lose Her Hair!

Sophia Umansky is responding to critics who have been dragging her use of weight loss drugs.

ICYMI, the daughter of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky recently opened up on TikTok about how she’s been using the weight loss drug Mounjaro. In the candid video, the 25-year-old revealed she’d been using the GLP-1 for a few months — and things weren’t all going well. One of the unexpected side effects she was experiencing due to the quick weight loss was MASSIVE amounts of hair loss. She said in the clip:

“I am very lucky that I have so much hair, because at the rate that I’ve been losing hair, I’m gonna be bald in about a week.”

Wow…

The thing is… Followers couldn’t help but notice a big problem with all this… Sophia was FAR from obese! She isn’t even overweight! We mean…

Mounjaro and other medications like it are for severe cases. They were designed to help diabetics — not to lose those annoying last couple lbs.

So it’s no surprise that in the comments, plenty of social media users were less sympathetic toward the real estate agent than she expected — instead blasting her for using medication she has no business being on:

“Ummmm maybe stop mounjaro. You are very thin? Confused”

“This is wild. She was never over weight to begin with. Kyle check in on your daughter”

“meanwhile my insurance keeps denying my Oz despite needing it for my insulin resistance bc of such high demand. you were already thin & healthy girl…”

“What??? She does not need Monjarou…WOW”

Sophia has a response to her critics, though.

She spoke to People at the premiere of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in El Lay on Friday and said:

“If you’re honest about things, people can’t even judge you or hate on you because you said it yourself. You’re the one that told everyone, you’re owning it, so anything anyone else has to say, it’s like, ‘Okay, well, I told you that. I’m owning it.’ I think it’s fine. And I always say I’m on Mounjaro. I obviously talk to a doctor.”

So… because she has no shame about it, everything is fine? Is that really her point?? The reality TV personality also said she thinks everyone needs to mind their business about her health journey and weight loss:

“People who are telling me that I don’t need to be on it, they don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re not doctors. And I think everyone needs to calm down and live their own lives. And honesty will get you far in life and lying is not fun. It’s not good.”

Well, doctors in El Lay have clearly already proved they’re happy to hand out weight loss drugs like a lollipop on your way out.

As far as what her mom thinks? Sophia says Kyle has been “very supportive of whatever decisions we make as her daughters”:

“I am 25 years old, so I’m an adult, I can do what I want. And of course we have guidance from our mom, and she wasn’t saying like, ‘Oh, you should be on this medication.’ Definitely not saying that. I think she was definitely trying to veer me away from getting on this medication, but once I spoke to doctors and she saw that that’s the path I wanted to take, she was very supportive.”

Oh, and she also wants everyone to be clear that she absolutely does not have body dysmorphia — she’s just trying “to feel a little bit more confident”:

“And yeah, I think a lot of people are saying that I have body dysmorphia and all this, and I’m like, ‘Actually, no. I think I’m cute both ways. I think I was cute before and I’m cute now.’ There’s nothing wrong with trying to feel a little bit more confident, a little bit cuter. People get worked on all the time, they get filler, they get Botox, they do all different kinds of things. So if I want to feel a little cuter, why not?”
