Kylie Kelce's Hilarious Take On 'Elf On A Shelf' Is For All The Tired Parents!

Kylie Kelce's Hilarious Take On 'Elf On A Shelve' Is For All The Tired Parents!

Kylie Kelce is keeping it real!

On Thursday’s episode of her podcast Not Gonna Lie, Jason Kelce‘s wife got candid about how Elf on the Shelf works in her household. The couple shares Bennett, 19 months, Elliotte, 3, and Wyatt, 5, and have one on the way. She noted Wyatt named their elf Emmy-Nemmy — whose biggest accomplishment is moving spots *most* nights, not all that other fancy stuff some elves get up to. Kylie explained:

“That’s it. Emmy-Nemmy is not leaving notes. She’s not bringing gifts. She’s not requiring any additional work.”

She continued:

“I love the idea of drawing on their face and then leaving Emmy Nemmy with a marker. But the idea of waiting until my kids are in a deep enough sleep and then scheming to get in their room and hoping they don’t wake up, that’s just a commitment I’m not willing to make.”

Honestly, fair! That’s a LOT of work!

Kyle said she stood by her choice of using a “deadbeat elf” — LOLz! But she is a bit nervous, she dished:

“The one problem that I have not yet run into is how nervous I am that the kids are going to start comparing notes at school. I know that there are other families out there that Elf on the Shelf hard — that their elf is mischievous, that their elf is cooler, that their elf does more, that their elf doesn’t accidentally end up on the same shelf two days in a row.”

As for what happened then, Kylie shared:

“To be fair, the two times that that has happened, it just so happened that it was raining that morning. And I said, ‘Wyatt, look outside. The ground is wet. I bet you it was raining last night, and Emmy-Nemmy didn’t wanna get her wings wet.'”

Aw!! While the momma “did feel a little guilty” about lying, she said:

“I lied through my teeth and I’d do it again, because she bought every second of it.”

Nothing wrong with creating a little holiday magic for your kiddo!

But, yeah, her fears about her children learning about the other kind of elves out there is weighing on her, she continued:

“I am nervous for the time where my girls compare notes at school because I’m nervous about the families whose elves bring gifts or other treats and fun things.”

Every elf is different! Sounds like her daughters are loving the tradition as it is, that’s all that matters!! Tired parents around the world get it! Hear her open up more about this (below):
