Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may be divorcing, but they are not cutting each other from their lives entirely!
The Argo star may have a filter on his phone to block any news about the pop star, but he hasn’t given her the boot from his life! On Tuesday, a source told Page Six the former couple plan to stay “connected” even though they’re no longer romantically together. However, it sounds like they are mainly staying in touch and spending time with each other for the children! The insider explained:
“They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved. Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”
Wow! They don’t technically even have kids together. J.Lo shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Ben shares Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. But during their relationship, the kids became so close.

While this is not their first rodeo when it comes to divorce, obviously, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been disappointing! The kids wanted Ben and Jen to work things out so badly! In fact, they planned to pull a Parent Trap and get the pair back together at one point. Unfortunately, that does not seem to have a chance of happening. As we understand it, a reconciliation is totally off the table now.
But at least Ben and Jennifer are willing to remain in each other’s lives for Max, Emme, Violet, Fin, and Samuel! As the insider pointed out, there is also the fact that their “kids attend the same school so they’re bound to spend time together” anyway, adding:
“Ben and Jennifer remain amicable whenever they do see each other. They’re still close with each other’s children, and even though they don’t have a co-parenting type of relationship, they still feel like a blended family in a lot of ways.”
The source went on to say the two ultimately “have a mutual respect for one another” no matter what — that is “not something that goes away” just because of their divorce:
“Obviously things haven’t been the same, but they have a lot of history.”
So far, the exes proved they can remain “amicable” no matter what. J.Lo, Ben, and Jen Garner were seen together on Friday night because they watched Fin and Emme in a school play. Take a look (below):

The singer and actor also have hung out in the past with the children, so they really are putting aside their issues for them. And you know what? We love to see it! Not all celebrity exes can handle this as maturely as they have over the past few months! Hopefully, they can continue down this path.
