Oh. My. Nostalgia!
Two decades after Laguna Beach first gave us sun-soaked drama, love triangles, and endlessly quotable teen angst, the queens of that chaos are finally setting the record straight. And guess what? That icy feud everyone thought would last forever is officially… melted!
Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari reunited on Thursday night at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, stepping onto the red carpet for a pre-reunion show event like no time had passed. The occasion? Oh, ya know, just that highly anticipated Roku Channel reunion special that is already stirring up major feelings for longtime fans. But the real headline here isn’t the reunion. It’s the fact that these two former rivals are no longer playing the roles that made them famous in the first place!

Yes, we’re talking about the ultimate early-2000s showdown over Stephen Colletti.

The tension, the tears, the iconic side-eyes. It defined an era. But according to Lauren, that chapter is firmly closed. She told People:
“I think it was great. It was part of what we wanted to show is that we’ve all grown, we’re all adults, a lot of us are parents. And I think that as you get older, you’re not worried about the small stuff.”
Cue the collective gasp from fans who lived for the drama.
Even more surprising? These two aren’t just cordial. They’re actually… friends. Yes! For real!
Lauren added:
“We’ve been having so much fun just texting and talking and laughing together.”
Whaaaa?!?!?! Texting and laughing??? From love triangle to group chat energy??? We did NOT see that coming!
Kristin echoed the same sentiment, making it crystal clear there’s no lingering bad blood:
“I’m really happy about it.”
And the Let’s Be Honest podcast host didn’t stop there:
“I’m thankful that we had the opportunity to even do that. And it’s been, obviously for us we haven’t had any beefs for the last however many years. We’re adults. We’ve all moved past it, but I think it’s nice and to show everybody that we’ve moved past it is going to be really therapeutic in a lot of ways.”
Yeah, uh, “therapeutic” is one way to put it. LOLz! For fans who spent years picking sides, this feels like emotional closure we didn’t know we needed.
Still, Kristin knows people are going to cling to the old narrative:
“We squashed it pretty quickly. Everyone wants to still believe that we’re enemies. But it’s been great getting to know her now as an adult. And I’ve realized we actually have a lot more in common than I think both of us ever thought. So it’s been interesting to see.”
And just like that, the feud that launched a thousand debates is officially over.
The upcoming reunion promises even more reflection, including a long-overdue one-on-one conversation between Lauren and Kristin that never happened during the original run. So, yeah — after all these years, they’re finally sitting down together on camera to talk it out. Consider us already seated.
The Reunion: Laguna Beach lands on Roku on April 10, and if this red carpet buzz is any indication, it’s going to be equal parts emotional, nostalgic, and surprisingly healing. Who knew growing up could look this good???
