There are seriously no words for what we are about to share with ya. But… we’ll try to explain it anyways. LOLz!
Country music star Lainey Wilson went on the Taste Of Country Nights On Demand podcast this week to talk about her career. The 32-year-old opened up on the podcast about what it was like for her to win a Grammy for Best County Album a few months back — a truly incredible achievement! Oh, and she ALSO opened up about the single most disgusting on-stage story we have ever heard in our lives. Buckle up for this, y’all, because as they might say way out in the country… WHAT IN TARNATION?!?!?!?!

On the pod, the Heart Like A Truck crooner was asked about some of her wacky concert experiences, and she dropped a banger. Wilson explained how last year, while she was headlining a tour, she was on stage at a club when a fan spit on her! Yes, SPIT!!!
And even worse, she saw the spit flying towards her and was powerless to get out of its way in mid-performance!! Lainey revealed:
“Last year when we were on our headlining tour — when we were just on a club tour — somebody spit on me on stage.”
Uh… WHAT?!?!
Like we said, she saw the whole thing coming, too. We feel like that makes it even worse, ya know? Not only did she get spit on, but she witnessed her own assault as it flew through the air!! Wilson recalled how even to this day, she still questions why the f**k a fan would spit on a performer:
“First of all, I was like, ‘why in the world would you buy a ticket and then go spit on somebody?’ But, also, there’s some mean people in the world. Also, they could have just been drunk and just being silly. It was weird. I saw it coming through the air. It was like I made eye contact with the spit and then it just lands on me and I’m just like, ‘I got a heart like a truck.'”
LOLz!!!
OK, that last line referencing one of her most popular songs is actually pretty damn funny. But still, we totally feel for her in this situation! BTW, Lainey briefly considered stopping the show to alert security and point out the culprit, but she ultimately decided against it. She explained:
“I kept rolling. I just kept rolling.”
Spoken like a true Grammy winner — the show must go on!
And yet… we don’t think anyone would have blamed her if she halted things to deal with a rogue spitter. There are things an artist should perform through, and then there are pause-worthy events, and getting spit on is 100% a pause-worthy event! Just saying!! Reactions??
