Isn’t it crazy to think we first met Lauren Conrad as a lovelorn teenager on MTV‘s Laguna Beach series?
She’s come a long, LONG way!
The fashion designer slash author covers the March issue of Lucky magazine wearing clothes from her Paper Crown line, as well as some pieces from Banana Republic, Jill Stuart, and Wacoal.
She also takes time to recollect her not so fashionable reality TV past, especially during her high school days, saying:
“I try to never look back at how I dressed in the first few seasons of Laguna Beach because it was pretty bad ├óΓé¼┬ª head-to-toe bad. This past summer, MTV replayed every episode and I would always see it and be like, Ahh, noo! I wore these capri denim pants a lot and they were so bad.”
The cute blonde also dishes on how it was hard to be taken seriously in the fashion industry, telling the mag:
“The TV show did not help my reputation very much. It was difficult to be taken seriously. But I think the fact that I went to school to study fashion and worked in the industry helped me. I think it├óΓé¼Γäós a good thing to feel like you have to prove something, because you├óΓé¼Γäóre always going to have to work a little bit harder.”
As for the best fashion advice she’s ever gotten? It’s probably not what you think!
“I can├óΓé¼Γäót remember who told me this, but it was ├óΓé¼╦£Get your clothes tailored.├óΓé¼Γäó Like most people, I used to wear clothing off the rack. But having them fitted to me makes a really big difference, especially with pieces like a cocktail dress. Little nips and tucks can take 10 pounds off you.”
That is good to know!
In the future, though, you may find LC getting in on the bridal game. She says:
“A friend from high school recently reminded me my goal was to own a bridal boutique! I├óΓé¼Γäód love to design bridal dresses.”
Considering how many projects she has under her belt, a bridal line will be a piece of wedding cake!
