Veteran comic-book man Todd McFarlane has very lofty goals for his remake of his signature comic-book movie Spawn. There are some big ideas on the table, including who will play the film’s lead character.
And who does McFarlane want? Leonardo DiCaprio, of course.
Though the the idea seems doubtful, McFarlane sites that Leo’s dad was a “big fan of underground comic books” and he is hoping that that passion has trickled down a generation. Heconcedes though, that the main character he envisions Leo playing isn’t the famed Spawn, but rather a detective on the hunt for the anti-hero.
Our vote is “no” on this one. We honestly can’t see Leo getting sucked into a comic-book franchise. He doesn’t need the hassle. One sinking ship per career is enough.
