Over the years, many fans have followed Leonardo DiCaprio‘s long road to winning an Oscar.
After losing the coveted Best Actor trophy 3 times (and Best Supporting once), the Internet grew to sympathize with the actor the only way it knows how — by making an infinite amount of memes about his struggle to win an Academy Award!

So, after Leo finally took home Oscar gold for his leading role in The Revenant on Sunday night, all of the Losing Leo memes stopped — only to make way for a new flood of Winning Leo memes!
Maybe it’s because the 41-year-old is an embodiment of hard work finally being recognized, or maybe it’s Instagram‘s way of apologizing for all the teasing throughout the years.
