Liam Hemsworth isn’t doing so well right now.
At least, that’s what is being reported new this week as the hunky Australian actor continues to navigate the fallout after his public breakup from longtime love Miley Cyrus. And to hear Liam’s friends tell it, the Wrecking Ball singer’s actions are apparently doing far more harm than good when it comes to her estranged husband.

According to an insider who spoke to Radar Online, the 29-year-old’s pals are apparently starting to get worried about his mental state, particularly as his ex continues to flaunt her new lifestyle in the public eye.
The source dished (below):
“It’s been awful for Liam. She’s so hellbent on playing everything out publicly, shading him, and now he’s lost custody of their pets. It really can’t get any worse, and he’s totally retreated into himself. It’s not like him. [He’s usually] very outgoing and social, but this is more than Liam can bear.”
Wow… we figured losing the pets would be a fairly big deal, and we had a feeling the Slide Away songstress’ fling with Kaitlynn Carter was less-than-ideal for her hunky ex, but it’s gotten this bad?!

The insider didn’t stop there, unfortunately, revealing more info about Hemsworth’s mental state as the breakup continues to hit home (below):
“She claims to love him, but she knows how much he’s hating the way she’s going off online about everything. But she doesn’t care. It’s as if she enjoys it. Liam’s so devastated and humiliated.”
Ugh… poor guy!
Miley On The Mend!
But if Liam really has been struggling this badly, Miley sure has had a different experience post-breakup, hasn’t she?
The former Disney Channel superstar made a triumphant appearance at MTV‘s VMAs this past week, performing her new hit — about the breakup, of course — and soaking up the spotlight from it all. Previously, she traveled alongside Carter over in Italy, enjoying #HotGirlSummer to the fullest while Liam was apparently left all alone to brood.
Whether the two women are really serious about their relationship or just providing each other with a fun, easy rebound for the summer, it’s all sort of irrelevant when compared to the actor. However superficial it may be, Miley has something to fall back on, after all, while her ex was banished Down Under without much recourse. Not great!
