Liam Payne Bombshell! One Direction Star Was DROPPED By Record Label Days Before His Death!

God, this is devastating…

In the wake of Liam Payne‘s tragic death, we’re learning more and more about what he was going through in the days leading up to the tragedy. And it would be overwhelming for anyone.

First there was the legal drama with his ex-fiancée Maya Henry. She had already made some pretty upsetting allegations against him. And it sounded like that was about to get a lot worse as she was considering taking legal action.

But it wasn’t just personal issues hitting the One Direction singer. It was professional, too. According to a shocking report on Thursday, his record label had dropped him! Just days before his death!

Universal Music Group put out a somber statement after the news of Liam’s unexpected passing. They wrote:

“We are devastated by the tragic passing of Liam Payne. His legacy will live on through his music and the countless fans he inspired and who adored him. We send our deepest condolences to Liam’s family and loved ones.”

The even put a little white dove emoji.

But according to multiple sources spilling to DailyMail.com, Liam was no longer with Universal — because they’d just let him go! One insider told them:

“Liam’s advance was massive and he didn’t recoup. Out of all of the One Direction boys, Liam was on the wrong path musically.”

Liam signed with the label Capitol Records, a subsidiary of Universal, back in 2016 after the breakup of 1D. In eight years, he’s only released the one album, LP1, in 2019. Though his first solo single, Strip That Down, hit number one on Billboard, like the rest of 1D’s first efforts, he never broke the top 20 again.

He obviously never quite hit the level of success that Harry Styles did… or even Zayn Malik and Niall Horan. So if Capitol/Universal expected a Harry and gave him that level of advance… It seems they weren’t willing to continue their bet on him as sources claimed the release of his second full album was put on hold even before he was officially dropped.

To learn Liam had just been dealt a career blow like this… What a rough time he was going through. Another source told the outlet:

“It is like all of Liam’s music career that he had built up since he went solo eight years ago was crumbling, there was very little left for him. It must have absolutely devastated him.”

Wow. He may have seemed like he was having the time of his life from the outside, but the more we’re learning the worse it sounds like everything was going for Liam. So sad…

We don’t know — and may never know — how much these struggles contributed to what happened to Liam. But we hope he knew how beloved he was by so many.
