Liam Payne Jumped, He Didn't Fall - Preliminary Autopsy Report Reveals...

New details about the tragic death of Liam Payne have been released.

As we previously reported, the former One Direction member passed away on Wednesday after falling from the balcony of his 3rd floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was just 31. A chilling 911 call released on Thursday revealed the hotel’s chief receptionist, Esteban, contacted the police to come “urgently” to the hotel after becoming concerned about Liam’s safety. He said the singer was “under the influence of alcohol and drugs” — and even specifically mentioned the man was “in danger” because he was “in a room with a balcony.” Sadly, the local authorities did not show up in time, and the situation ended in tragedy.

On Thursday, the Buenos Aires Security Ministry confirmed in a statement to the AP that Liam “jumped from the balcony of his room”. So, so sad. Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, told Argentina’s Todo Noticias TV channel they “arrived in time to try and revive him, but there was nothing we could do.” Liam ended up suffering from “severe injuries that provoked his immediate death.” Now, we are learning more about what caused his death.

According to a preliminary autopsy report seen by CNN, the For You artist died from multiple injuries and “internal and external” hemorrhages. For those wondering how high up the jump was, the 3rd floor in Argentina is what we would call the 4th floor in the US. There they consider the ground floor outside the numbering, with the 1st floor being the next one up. So we’re talking the balcony four stories up. So we’re probably talking over 40 ft. Devastating.

A toxicology report is still pending. Based on witness statements, it seems that’s going to be a big factor… If he wasn’t in his right mind, as those who saw him last are saying… Well, sadly we may never know whether Liam was intentionally trying to end his life by jumping off that balcony.

The prosecutor’s office handling the case will make an official statement with more details later on. An investigation is also currently in progress to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

It’s so heartbreaking and shocking. He was so young. Our hearts continue to go out to Liam’s friends and family.
