Lily Collins’ Husband Charlie McDowell Slams ‘Unkind Messages’ From Haters Criticizing Their Decision To Have Baby Via Surrogate!

Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell are now parents! While the couple should be only reeling in joy over their new baby, they are having to defend themselves online against the haters criticizing them for how they chose to have a baby instead. Ugh.

On Friday, the Emily In Paris star revealed in a joint post on Instagram that she and the filmmaker husband welcomed a daughter named Tove Jane McDowell via surrogate. Aww! She wrote alongside a sleeping picture of their little one:

“Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell. Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again…”

Lily did not share any other details about the birth. But according to TMZ, Lily and Charlie’s surrogate gave birth earlier this week in Northern California. How amazing! Check out the post (below):

Many friends and fans quickly expressed their love and congratulations to Lily and Charlie in the comments. However, not all of the messages were positive! Some social media users actually slammed the couple’s decision to have a baby through a surrogate. What the f**k. Charlie did not appreciate those insensitive and gross remarks and shut them down! In the comments section, he began by thanking everyone for the support:

“Thank you for all the kind messages and love. We are overjoyed and very grateful.”

As for the trolls? Charlie then blasted them for their “unkind messages” during what is a joyful time for Lily and him:

“In regards to the unkind messages about surrogacy and our path to having a baby— it’s ok to not be an expert on surrogacy. It’s ok to not know why someone might need a surrogate to have a child. It’s ok to not know the motivations of a surrogate regardless of what you assume. And it’s ok to spend less time spewing hateful words into the world, especially in regards to a beautiful baby girl who has brought a lot of love into people’s lives. That’s all for now because she just pooped and I need to change her diaper.”

What a perfect response.

Congratulations to Charlie and Lily on their little one! Reactions to the happy news, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments!
