God was smiling upon her today!
Facing a jail sentence of up to one year, Lindsay Lohan instead was sent back to rehab – for a nice long while.
Judge Elden Fox ordered the actress to stay in rehab until AT LEAST January 3rd of 2011.
Lohan is expected back in court for a progress hearing on February 25th.
Once released from rehab, Lindsay will have to undergo random drug testing until that future court date.
She will also have that pesky SCRAM bracelet she hates removed today.
The District Attorney had recommended Lohan serve 180 days in county jail. Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said that the probation report recommended that she stay in treatment.
The judge heard of Lohan’s progress and wanted her to stay in rehab. He specifically said he wanted her to stay there through the end of 2010 and past the holidays! ├óΓé¼┼ôThere is a reason for that,├óΓé¼┬¥ he said in court.
At one point, Judge Fox told Lindsay, “You are an addict. I hope you understand that. And I’m not going to be manipulated.” He also told her, ├óΓé¼┼ôIf you can make it until Feb. 25, I will make it unsupervised probation. You can put this long episode behind you if you are serious about this.├óΓé¼┬¥
Both of Lindsay’s parents, Dina and Michael, where in court, despite the fact that Dina has a restraining order against him.
Oops!
Upon being spared jail time, an emotional Lindsay, in tears, told the judge, “Thank you.”
Judge Fox sternly warned Lohan that failure to comply with his order would result in the D.A.’s recommendation being implemented ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ that├óΓé¼Γäós 180 days in jail!
Good luck, LL!
