This is SUCH exciting news!!
Looks like FOX is following in NBC‘s footsteps and bringing a live musical to viewers TV screens in 2015 a la the Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood!
So, OF COURSE, they decided upon Grease as the musical, because DUH!
FOX released a statement saying:
“From Broadway to film, and across generations, Grease is one of the most beloved musical stories ever told ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and we can├óΓé¼Γäót wait to bring it to our air in a spectacular live event. Its iconic characters and addictive songs make it the perfect fit for FOX, and we├óΓé¼Γäóre going to give it the kind of star power and production quality to make every Sandy, Danny, Rizzo and Kenickie out there want to get up and sing along.”
So, what exactly do they mean by “star power,” AKA WHO WILL PLAY DANNY AND SANDY??!
We might not know any casting news right now, we’ve definitely got some suggestions on who they SHOULD cast for the roles!
Ch-ch-check out our Perezicious picks…AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Taylor Swift & James Maslow would be picture perfect for the job!
Dianna Agron & Darren Criss are THE perfect Gleeks for the roles!
For a more hip-hop take on Grease they could cast Drake & Rihanna as the leads!
Chord Overstreet & Brie Larson would be AH-MAZE! They’ve both got the right pipes for the roles!
Austin Mahone & Ariana Grande have the chops to be the perfect teen queen & king for this!
AnnaSophia Robb & Zac Efron could do the roles justice! Plus Zefron would be returning to his High School Musical roots! Definitely a win!
….but what about the other roles?!?
Well, for Frenchie, we think the perfect choice lies in either Lena Dunham or Iggy Azalea! They’d both be brilliant!
And what about ‘mean girl’ Rizzo? Gotta be Rita Ora or Naya Rivera, duh! They could definitely perfect some terrifying glares!
Lastly, there’s Kenickie, but WHO would be the perfect choice? Well, we think Cody Simpson‘s the BEST pick… though they COULD go with Justin Bieber! He’s certainly got the attitude for it!
We can’t WAIT to see who they’ll eventually cast!!!
