Lorde has called out Kanye West and Kid Cudi as copycats for their suspended stage design debuted at the Camp Flog Gnaw festival in El Lay over the weekend.
But is she in the wrong??

As we previously reported, the singer shared on her Instagram Story a pic of her on the stage with dancers in a floating glass box behind her and the caption:
“I’m proud of the work I do and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves… But don’t steal — not from women or anyone else — not in 2018 or ever.”
While the two rappers have yet to comment on Lorde’s accusations, set designer Es Devlin, who has been working with Kanye for 13 years, did:
The set designer coyly shut down the allegations by sharing three images of floating glass boxes used by the English National Opera in 2007, designed by her. Plus, Ye heavily featured a suspended stage during his 2016 Saint Pablo tour, in addition to performing inside a glass box with Cudi over the weekend.

Unclear if the “women” Lorde refers to in her IG story is about her or Es, but considering she started working with the designer after Kanye, does she have room to talk?
