As the Rolling Stones once sang, you can’t always get what you want.
And Louis Tomlinson is learning that the hard way today!
The One Direction member had made a bid to buy the Doncaster Rovers Football Club, whom he played for on their reserve team back in February. He even organized a crowdfunding campaign to help him come up with the cash to purchase the squad!
Louis was offering fans a selfie of himself for 250 pounds and a 10-minute meet-and-greet for £12,000!
Even with those high prices though, Tomlinson couldn’t come up with the 2 million he needed! Which means his attempt to take over the team has been axed!
Louis got on Twitter to tell his followers the bad news. He tweeted:
I'm absolutely gutted the Doncaster Rovers deal is not going ahead. I am desperate for the club to be given the recognition it deserves 🙁

I was explicitly told that the deal to buy the club was not dependent on the money raised by Crowdfunding . Unfortunately I was misled.

My passion for Doncaster Rovers remains as strong as ever, and I hope that I can still be involved with the club moving forward!

And to all the Doncaster Rovers fans , I will do all in my power to help the club succeed. I really do love the club !

Hmm. It sounds like because his crowdfunding campaign failed, he’s not being allowed to buy his beloved team!
But Louis himself is supposedly worth around £14million! So why not shell out some shillings and buy the team yourself?
We’re sorry you couldn’t buy your favorite club, Louis. But chin up! There’s more to life than owning a sports team!
