Madonna showed up in Beverly Hills to help at Sean Penn‘s fundraiser for Haiti with children David and Mercy on Saturday night, but the story was all about how she approached her ex-husband!

The superstar was openly physical with the actor — who’s now in some hot water after holding an interview with a drug kingpin — and Madge was extremely loving, both physically (pictured, above) and verbally!
At one point, she told the crowd about her thoughts on her ex-husband:
“I want to say Sean that I love you from the moment I laid eyes on you and I still love you just the same.”

Of course, the Like A Virgin singer is going through a very difficult time herself right now, and perhaps Sean’s presence and familiarity just lends itself to nostalgia, but who knows!
We can only imagine how deep that love may go!
