Yay! Worst kept secret ever, but we’re still super excited!
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have finally fessed up! The couple are expecting thier first child this spring! They sat down for an exclusive interview with Access Hollywood this week to confirm the news and told Billy Bush that it has been a wonderfully “emotional time for them.”
Specifically, Mariah opened up about how this has affected her work, her upcoming Christmas album, as well as decision to finally share the happy news:
“I was always career minded├óΓé¼┬ªI had never considered this with any other relationship…At this point, there is no choice. I either talk or I hibernate.├óΓé¼┬¥
Additionally, Mariah reveals that about two years ago, she suffered a miscarriage as they were getting ready to tell their friends and family the good news that they were expecting over the holidays when they found out she was no longer pregnant.
“It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult,├óΓé¼┬¥ says Mariah when speaking about the miscarriage. ├óΓé¼┼ôWhen that happened├óΓé¼┬ª I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy.├óΓé¼┬¥
After the miscarriage, Nick says the experience has made them stronger as a couple and he admires Mariah’s strength, “It definitely brought us closer together. It strengthened our relationship so much… she handled it so well.”
He’s calling their new little addition, ├óΓé¼┼ôThe greatest gift on earth .├óΓé¼┬¥
We’re just so happy for them!
So now, the big question is: boy or girl???
