Dot Stein is the go-to masseuse to the stars.
Miz Stein, who has become famous for her “biting” massages, has worked on everyone from Frank Zappa to Sting. And while Dot has mostly nice things to say about her A-list clientele, it seems as though there’s one infamous diva whom she CANNOT stand. Ooh, go on!

Although Kanye West and Lady GaGa are among the powerhouses Stein has worked on, it’s Mariah Carey who has pulled the most divalicious behavior mid-massage. During a chat with Architectural Digest, Dot dished:
“I cannot stress the fact enough, everything you read about her is true. It’s a huge production to massage her. She doesn’t want anyone touching her bedsheets. She refuses to lie on a massage table. God forbid my saliva would have touched her; she would have erupted. So I didn’t bite Mariah.”
Oh, and the We Belong Together artist also demanded they watch Mean Girls THREE times during one particularly lengthy massage. Sounds on brand for MiMi.
Nonetheless, after so much exposure to Tinseltown’s best, Stein isn’t necessarily shaken by behavior like Mariah’s. The massage therapist added:
“I have a lot of agents contact me, and then eventually the star gets my number and they just call me directly… At this point, it’s hard to impress me when it comes to celebrities. But I still enjoy it a lot. I get to go to free concerts all the time. Last Sunday, I went to a very private dress rehearsal of Roger Waters for his tour.”
VVV impressive. So what does a massage by Stein cost the average celeb? Well, Dot’s base treatment costs $150 an hour and goes up in price for however late in the evening the appointment is booked. This isn’t crazzzzy to learn since Dot has rubbed GaGa’s feet at 4 a.m. before. LOLz!
Although the superstar masseuse has 900 staffers around the world, the average joe will have to wait for a one-on-one with her directly if they want to try her notable bite massage. On the special skill, Dot shared:
“Ninety-five percent of the people I massage want to try it. Once they have it, they want it every time. It’s like an appetizer at a meal. You start out with the bite to tenderize the back. There’s no other feeling in the world like it.”
We bet. Regardless, we can’t imagine Nick Cannon‘s ex letting ANYONE bite her back!
