After Mariah Carey kinda admitted to Billboard mag that she’d be doing a Beyonc├â┬⌐-type release for her latest untitled album, the songstress is taking it all back…
Or at least her record label is!
According to Laura Swanson, Def Jam’s exec VP of media, the album will be released in a VERY traditional way—with a physical copy and digital download available the same day.
She said:
“Mariah will announce the date and title in advance of the on-sale date.”
The VP also revealed that the cover art and tracklist will be seen before the actual disk hits stores—further dashing Mimi fans of a super secret Queen Bey-esq. reveal!
The new music was supposed to be released in May of 2013, but has been plagued by setbacks and injury recovery on Mariah’s end—so we’re just hoping the jams are worth the wait.
The former American Idol judge is set to start her album announcements on May 6, so until then…
